How to use wax resin for 3D printing
3D printing offers several advantages in the jewelry industry, including the ability to create complex custom designs, reduce production time and costs, and minimize material waste. In addition, it enables rapid prototyping and iteration, as well as the production of complex geometries that are difficult to achieve with traditional manufacturing methods.
Files you need: 3D model of the jewelry, saved in STL format
- 3D stereolithography printer
- High power curing box
- 95% concentration absolute ethanol
- Lost wax casting resin
If you have no experience and want to get started quickly, it is best to choose a manufacturer that can provide complete teaching. IFUN provides this service.
1.After the design is completed, import the STL file into the slicing software and add supports appropriately. You can also add them during drawing. Supports are a technical job. If the supports are not added properly, it will cause printing failure.
2.Export the cut pieces to a USB flash drive, insert it into the printer, pour the resin, and start printing.
3.After printing, scrape it off and clean it with alcohol
4.Use a high-power curing box for curing. Jewelry resin is different from other resins. Curing in a high-power curing box will be more beneficial to the later casting effect. IFUN’s hp-j800 is developed for jewelry applications. It has an 800W High power, integrated curing and drying, can quickly penetrate resin parts and completely cure the model.
5.Next, you can plant the wax tree and then pour the plaster casting.
